Care:
We recommend treating your Oru Kayak as you would a fiberglass, wood, or skin-on-frame kayak. Here are some guidelines:
- Avoid unnecessary dragging or bumping – use the carry handles to lift, instead of tugging it behind you
- Store out of direct sunlight
- Rinse the kayak thoroughly with fresh water after each use – sediment and salt that dry to the surface of the boat can be abrasive over time

This is the best thing since Dino chicken nuggets! I live in a closet and always wanted a kayak. The Beach fits behind my couch and when it is assembled it will hold me, my cocker spaniel, and a drink cooler. It fits in my 2-seat car (which solves the biggest regret of that purchase). The carrying bag is a little snug but manageable. Overall, this is my favorite purchase of the past decade. Sandbar party on, my friends!

We got 2 Beach LTs for my wife’s 70th birthday; 1 for her, 1 for me. Lightweight enough for us to get in and out of vehicles and get to and from the water. No hassling with car racks or storage racks in the garage. We can get both ready for launch in 20 minutes. And when it’s time to pack up we’re in the car while other paddlers are still lifting their kayaks onto their car racks.
Handling is smooth and stable. Easy to get in and out of. We love our Oru Kayaks!

The Oru Beach LT is great for a relaxed outing. I love that I can throw this kayak in the back seat of my Subaru Legacy and start my trip. The boat takes me about 10-15 mins to setup. With the large cockpit it is easy to get in and out of. The boat still handles well for me being an overweight person near the weight capacity of this boat. If you are a large person near the weight capacity, this boat will still work for you.
My only complaints / recommendations for improvements would be the seat. Both the backrest and seat cushion don’t stay in place well for me. The backrest can sometimes become unattached from the floorboard. I would recommend some velcro to keep the seat cushion in place.

I’ve had my Oru for several months now, and I don’t know how I ever lived without it. I can stash it in my car during work and hit the lake near my office afterwards. Today, it had its first river trip. We paddled the Tour de Coal – a 12 mile trip on the Coal River in St Albans, WV. It had more than its fair share of bumps and hit some rifles without any difficulty. And floated on. Truly a great experience. Good acceleration and handling. Durable. So easy to set up and take down. But be prepared to explain the kayak and answer a ton of questions…
